ORION Compliance Support

ORION License service (OLS) grants the right to use its software through software license agreements or contract documents. Unauthorized or unlicensed use of ORION may constitute a breach of contract and/or a violation of intellectual property rights laws. Non-compliance may be deliberate, but can also occur unintentionally due to a lack of knowledge of the applicable license terms, lack of license management, or lack of controls over the distribution of software within an organization.

Azentio is committed to protecting its contractual and intellectual property rights and will assist its customers and partners in obtaining and maintaining adequate licenses for use of its software.

Managing ORION Licenses – Customer’s Responsibility

When customers license ORION software, it is their responsibility to ensure that they are utilizing their licenses in accordance with the terms and conditions of their license agreements. It is ultimately the customer’s responsibility to ensure that they understand and comply with their license rights.

Getting to License Compliance

If Azentio identifies a license violation, it will notify about the violation to the non-compliant organization and will allow thirty days for obtaining appropriate licenses or otherwise correcting the violation. ORION Licensing Team and Regional team will assist the customer or partner in obtaining the appropriate licenses for the desired use of ORION.

The license compliance shortfall may be corrected in one of the following ways:

  • Through the purchase of sufficient licenses and associated support to cover the compliance shortfall.
  • If the customer removes ORION software, or reconfigures its hardware environment, a term license and associated support can be purchased to cover unlicensed usage.

ORION endeavours to resolve license compliance violations in a fair and accurate manner. If a business resolution cannot be obtained, it will be escalated to the appropriate authority through ORION Licensing Team who will get it sorted.

ORION Licensing Request

1. Do you possess ORACLE & ORION License related documents?*
You need to possess ORACLE & ORION license related documents such as Contract, ORACLE CSI numbers for the base installation and additional licenses (if any).

2. Are you aware of ORACLE & ORION license and the implications of the software?*
You should possess ORACLE and be aware of the licenses type of the softwares that are installed in your premises
3. Do you maintain an appropriate correlation between ORACLE & ORION License and its hardware?*
In case of any change or upgrade in hardware or a breach, the same should be intimated to Azentio before such an upgrade or installation

5. Do you possess any other instances of ORACLE or ORION without appropriate licenses other than licensed environments?*
Other than the LIVE Production environment there cannot be any other instances of ORACLE or ORION without appropriate licenses. I.e. UAT, TEST environments cannot exist without appropriate licenses. Having such instances more than the licensed hardware is a breach.
6. Do you want to streamline ORACLE & ORION Licenses related to UAT, TEST environments?*
ORION Licenses relating to the UAT, TEST environments need to streamlined by discussing with your nearest Regional Account Manager or ORION Support.

7. Have you integrated any other 3rd party products with ORION?*
ASFU license usage is limited to ORION products. It is a breach in business conduct if the ASFU license issued by Azentio is extended to other 3rd party products which include any 3rd party backend integrations as well.
Any 3rd party product Integrations should be routed through Azentio provided API Based Integrations only.
8. Do you renew your ORACLE License (ORACLE AMC) annually?*
It is the customer’s onus to carry on with annual renewal of licenses i.e. ORACLE AMC. AMC has to be paid right from the original year of Procurement.
9. Are you using ORION11j ORACLE JDK? *
If ORION11j ORACLE JDK is still being used it should be either converted into OpenJDK support with Azentio or be subscribed to ORACLE.
10. Are you using any 3rd party tool other than Azentio Products?*
Please mention the 3rd party tools that you use*
Any 3rd Party tool Other than Azentio Products would be prevented from intruding into ORION DB.
11. Is your DB access protected with better security controls? *
To make your DB more secure, Read only access can be provided by using “Read only Layer” as approved by Azentio team. This schema can only be used to view the data of the application.
It is advisable to keep your DB secured. Therefore, Read only access can be provided by using “Read only Layer” as approved by Azentio team. This schema can only be used to view the data of the application.
